A Triple Thank You
Happy Independence Day!
Sending warm wishes your way for this special day. Have any exciting plans lined up? On the ranch, we’re planning on a few visits with friends and family, some fireworks and hoping for normal weather conditions and as always…everyone staying safe and injury free.
We'll also spend part of the day moving the cattle into a new pasture.
Oh yeah, you can bet we'll fire up the grill later for some steaks and burgers. Not to complain (hint: here comes a complaint or rant)… Did you know that approx 87% of the grass-fed beef sold in U.S. stores is imported? Sounds a bit crazy, right? How many farms and ranches are within spittin’ distance of local grocery stores, yet the grass-fed beef they're selling traveled thousands of miles from Australia, New Zealand, Brazil or Uruguay. Here the real B.S. of it all. Even though that beef was raised and processed halfway across the globe, it can still sport a "Product of the USA" label. How? Well, there's a sneaky loophole in the law that allows it, all because some of the processing happens in a USDA facility. Your clothes have a label that declare its country of origin, but apparently, what we eat…your beef… doesn't have to play by the same rules. There’s more to the story on a previously posted blog at Product of the USA…Not! Here's where you come in. By choosing American-grown, grass-fed beef, you're not just filling your plate with deliciousness, you're also supporting local economies, keeping farming traditions alive and helping rural communities thrive. Almost forgot about TASTE. 100% grass-fed Dexter cattle beef is unique and one of a kind. Some of the world’s best. That’s what we raise. As you celebrate today, know that every bite of American beef is a vote for quality, health, community and a greener planet. Thank you for your support. Together, we're not just raising cattle; we're making a better future, one delicious meal at a time. We’re getting closer to harvest season. When the time comes, we will be sure to let you know. Meanwhile, if it rains this holiday and you have a minute, check out our FAQ - How to Purchase Grass-Fed Beef. We'll make it easy for ya. Now let’s go get some MEAT! Cheers, Jim
